In this jungle of life, our family relationships are threatened by the constant distractions and negative feeds in our lives. This suffering can be transformed into growth with intentionality.
How to design the optimal family life
Our families are part of our genetic makeup, of course. Additionally, most of our identity is formed by the positive or negative values they instilled in us since we were children. That physical connection you have with your mother doesn’t disappear with birth; it actually expands into an emotional and mental bond that includes your father, siblings, other relatives, and eventually a spouse and children. You grow relying on others to become who you are. You are not a sea turtle who, the moment it’s born, is programmed for a long journey to its nesting ground without the help of parents. Within this second extension, you are most likely to find those who are willing to support you in spite of your many faults and be there for you when others might abandon you. Family members are great candidates to have in your inclusion list, your cheerleaders. The more you are aware of and connected with all your family components, the wider your “I” is.
