Your Other Components
I = Self + Family +Work + Communities + Nature. You’re not complete without all your extensions of being.
Exploring your other components of your five extensions of being
We have an innate desire for self-expansion in order to enhance our effectiveness in achieving our goals. This is why we build families, forge close relationships, and create networks. With such expansion, we include in our definition of self the resources, capabilities, and qualities of those with whom we are closely connected. This expands the concept of our self, and in the process, we also evolve and expand our being.
Who you include in the self is not a matter of choice, it’s a matter of awareness. There is no you without the self, your contacts, and nature. Your contacts are your family, work, and communities. You simply can’t be who you are without your _Five Extensions of Being_. You are totally dependent for your own survival and growth on these extensions and their components, regardless of how you prioritize them at any given moment of your life.
In workshops 1-5, you have worked on your existential component of the self. “Workshop 6” is an introductory workshop to the other 24 components of your “i”.
